Waynesboro police were called to "an unattended death" at 213A Elder Avenue around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, according to a release the following morning.
Courtney Alan Keller was found dead during a welfare, police explained in an updated release on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
"An autopsy was conducted at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA. The forensic pathologist will issue a ruling on the cause and manner of death in 6 to 8 weeks," the police stated in the updated release.
The Franklin County Coroner's Office, Franklin County Detectives, and local detectives are continuing to investigate.
The preliminary investigation determined that there is no threat to the public.

Courtney is a Waynesboro native, born to the late Larry L. Keller and Cinda J. Snider Smith on May 16, 1964, according to his obituary.
Robin Powell had been trying to check in on her friend Courtney when she learned the news of his passing. She told Daily Voice this is "heartbreaking" explaining how Courtney had lost his parents and how they had been friends since high school. His community will deeply miss him.
Courtney is survived by three siblings, Jeffrey of McConnellsburg, James, and Melissa both of Waynesboro, as detailed in his obituary.
Services are being held privately and at the convenience of the family.
